John T. Beckman, Jr., Ninth Vice President, was appointed to the IATSE General Executive Board in the summer of 2004. He has been a member of the St. Louis-based IATSE Local 6 since 1970. Beckman joined the IATSE after a stint in the US Army and has been the Business Agent of the stage local since 1978. Prior to being elected as Business Agent, Beckman spent four years as a member of the local’s executive board.

Beckman credits his uncle, a retired member of Local 6 for getting his start in the IATSE.
