Frank A. Hobbs,
Retired International Vice President Frank A. Hobbs first joined the ranks of the IA as a member of Chicago's Stage Employee's Local 2 in 1943. He became a charter member of Local 476 in 1946, and rose to prominence both at the local and the International levels. He was elected President of local 476 in 1949, and assumed the leadership of his local's delegation to our International Convention beginning in 1950. Brother Hobbs appeared at our Conventions without fail until our last gathering in 2001. He was elected AFL-CiO delegate in 1977. He was elected to the General Executive Board as an International Vice President on August 31, 1978. In 1995 he retired from this position. At the 62nd Convention that same year, Brother Hobbs received an Retired International Officer Award from International President Short.
Retired International Vice President Frank A. Hobbs died on November 4, 2002. He was 84 years old.
